Shrinkage Limit Apparatus

Conforming to specifications and tolerance in accordance to I.S. 2720 Part VII

To determine the water content level after which any further reduction in the water content will not cause a corresponding decrease in the volume of the soil mass.

Consists of:

• Porcelain evaporating dish approx 7.5cm diam


• Shrinkage dish of  metal 45mm internal diam X 15mm high.


• Glass cup 50 to 55mm diam X 20mm deep.


• Perspex prong plate with three metal prong 


• Perspex plate plain 75mm square. 


• Spatula 20mm width and 80mm long made of stainless steel with wooden handle. Measuring cylinder 50ml graduated.


• Wash Bottle 500 ml


• Nicely packed in plastic container
